Legal
Terms & Conditions
Plain-English summary. This website is marketing material for The Cartographers Group. Using it does not create a client relationship, nothing here is a guarantee of any political or legal outcome, and any actual engagement is governed by a separate signed agreement.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website located at cartographersgroup.com and any related pages, content, or forms (collectively, the “Site”), operated by The Cartographers Group (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Who we are and what the Site is
The Cartographers Group is a public safety strategies firm operating through two practices, Modern Cartographers (strategic campaigns) and Modern Fortis (government relations). The Site is provided for general informational and marketing purposes only. It describes services we may offer; it is not an offer, a proposal, or a commitment to provide any service.
3. No client relationship and no guaranteed outcome
Using the Site, submitting a form, or otherwise contacting us does not create a consultant-client, agency, fiduciary, attorney-client, or lobbying relationship. Any engagement begins only upon a separate written agreement signed by both parties, and that agreement, not these Terms, governs the services provided.
Political campaigns, ballot measures, legislative efforts, and public affairs work are inherently uncertain. Nothing on the Site is a promise, guarantee, or prediction of any particular electoral, legislative, regulatory, procurement, or media outcome. Descriptions of past work do not guarantee comparable results.
4. Not legal, financial, or compliance advice
Content on the Site is not legal, accounting, tax, election-law, or campaign-finance advice. Political activity is regulated at federal, state, and local levels, and requirements vary by jurisdiction and change over time. You are responsible for obtaining advice from qualified professionals and for your own compliance with all applicable laws, including reporting and disclosure obligations.
5. Permitted use
You may view, download, and print pages from the Site for your own non-commercial reference. You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Copy, republish, sell, license, or commercially exploit Site content without our written permission.
- Scrape, crawl, harvest, or use automated means to extract data or contact information from the Site, except for well-behaved search engine indexing.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers, or any connected systems, or interfere with their operation.
- Introduce malware or any code intended to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the Site.
- Submit false, misleading, or third-party personal information through our forms.
6. Intellectual property

Third-party names, logos, and marks appearing on the Site, including those of technology partners, are the property of their respective owners and appear for identification purposes only. Their appearance does not imply endorsement by those owners of The Cartographers Group, nor our endorsement of them, beyond any relationship expressly described.
7. Submissions and communications
If you submit an inquiry, request, or other material through the Site, you represent that you have the right to provide it and that it is accurate. Do not send us confidential, privileged, or sensitive information through the Site’s forms; communications sent through the Site are not necessarily secure and are not treated as confidential until a written engagement is in place.

Our handling of opt-in data is described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Third-party links and services
The Site links to third-party sites and services we do not control, including the websites of our practices, partner organizations, podcast platforms, and social networks. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, security, or practices of those third parties, and links do not constitute endorsement. Your use of any third-party site is governed by that party’s own terms and privacy policy.
10. Availability of the Site
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that content is current or complete.

17. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, that provision will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
